January 19, 2018
Companies collaborate to focus on global efforts toward self-management of chronic pain

A PPM Brief

GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, whose US headquarters are based in Warren, NJ, has acquired NeuroMetrix Inc.’s (Waltham, MA) Quell Wearable Pain Relief Technology for the external-US market, and the two companies will work together over the next three years to fund development and expansion of the technology.

Quell, a device worn on the upper calf, is designed to offer relief of chronic pain by stimulating sensory nerves. The wearable was originally approved by the FDA in 2014 and has been indicated for use by patients during the day as well as while sleeping.
