Two OTC Pain Relievers Offer Alternatives to NSAIDs

MYGRIN, from Sunascen Therapeutics, may help minor aches and pains, and serve as a sleep aid.

Sunascen Therapeutics has developed1 a new line of over-the-counter (OTC) pain relievers called MYGRIN, currently consisting of two products: MYGRIN Roll-On Gel (menthol 3.5%) and MYGRIN Nighttime (acetaminophen 250mg, aspirin 250mg, and diphenhydramine citrate 38mg).

MYGRIN Roll-on Gel is a specially formulated cooling topical, administered year-round using a roll-on applicator for the temporary relief from minor aches and muscle/joint pain associated with arthritis, bruises, and sprains. This dye-free, non-greasy, and non-staining gel is aimed at patients age 2 and above.

MYGRIN Nighttime is used to temporarily relieve occasional headaches and minor aches and pains with accompanying sleeplessness. The product contains less than the typical single dose of most nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), as well as acetaminophen, in each caplet. The addition of diphenhydramine citrate, a non-addictive sleep aid, enables patients to both alleviate pain and improve sleep conditions.
