Osteoarthritis (OA), a joint disease that causes painful swelling most often in the knees, hips, and hands, affects 30 million people in the US. Research has shown that one of the most effective ways to reduce pain and improve quality of life for people with joint inflammation and related pain is exercise.

In fact, a recent study published in the Journal of American Geriatrics Society tested the effects of Chair Yoga on osteoarthritis and found it to be a safe and effective alternative pain management solution for aging adults with the condition (read the full story). The study specifically examined Sit 'N' Fit Chair Yoga, developed by Kristine Lee, which can be performed either sitting in a chair or by using a chair for balance.
