Practical Pain Management Community Advice

Arthritis pain

I am a 29 year old female who has the most random flare ups in the world! The tops of my feet...one finger my shoulders???? My rheumatologist scratches his head at my condition...he knows its arthritis but not what kind...ugh i have flare ups about once a month what do you guys do when the pain is at its peak??!! I hate taking meds they make me nonfunctional but this pain is unbearable!!! Any substitutes for meds? Please help :*(

When i get flare ups like that my pain meds dont even help...just prednisone

I also had a cort.shot in my hand for my finger & had instant relief ...within a 1/2 hour.. Cort shot in my shoulder as well when i get a flare up & frozen shoulder...that helps too. Plus i put rice in a sock & microwave it. I also made my own finger brace out of velcro so i dont bend it wrong at bed time.
