Maxie Blasini holds a master’s of science degree in physiology and biophysics from Georgetown University. She has worked at the University of Maryland School of Nursing under Dr. Luana Colloca’s mentorship and supervision on a variety of projects related to the science of placebo and nocebo effects as well as chronic pain. She has presented posters on expectancy-induced analgesia in patients with temporomandibular disorder at several professional society pain meetings, such as the International Association for Study of Pain (IASP).
