About Tejinder Swaran Singh, MD

Dr. Swaran Singh is director of the Pain Medicine Fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. His primary clinical responsibilities are managing patients in the pain management clinics, staffing the Inpatient Acute Pain Service, and providing anesthesia services in the operating rooms. 

Dr. Swaran Singh received his medical degree at Kilpauk Medical College in Chennai, India. After that, he completed his anesthesiology residency at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Education and Research (JIPMER) in Pondicherry, India. He then trained in the United Kingdom in the Leeds and York deaneries and passed hisFellow of The Royal College of Anaesthetists, London, examinations before moving to the United States in 2008 to start his anesthesiology residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. On completion of his residency, he finished a pain medicine fellowship at the University of Iowa and then joined its faculty. 

 Dr. Swaran Singh is board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine. He is currently involved in both research and teaching at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. He also serves as an international reviewer for the Journal of Anesthesiology and Clinical Pharmacology.
